Dark Enchantment-

A Web Novel

by BlackWidow

This is the future home of Dark Enchantment, a novel that I have worked on since the Spring of 1995.  It is still unfinished, but cries out to be read by someone other than myself.  I hope you enjoy it.

Some background info:  I am an unpublished author.  I would list my favorite authors and biggest influences as Anne Rice, Clive Barker, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and William Shakespeare.  I also draw influences from countless movies and screenplays.

Dark Enchantment is a vampire novel.  Even though I am a fan of Anne Rice, my writing is not fan-fiction.  I have my own vampire mythology that I have studied and formulated by myself.  I think that it is different from anyone else's mythology- but then again, I have not read every vampire novel ever written.  The characters are also exclusively mine- although a famous historical figure may pop up then and again.

I have put years of work into this story, and as such, I ask everyone to respect my ownership of it.  Feel free to link to this site if you enjoy it, but do not reprint it or distribute it without my permission.

Also, I have designed this site with embedded midi on each page.  These songs were hand-picked by me to add historical effect and character.  I believe web-published fiction is enhanced by the possibility of sound as well as text.  If the music bothers you, I have also made it convenient to turn off- although I'd like you all to hear as well as read.  I'd suggest turning the volume to a comfortable and non-intrusive level now.

One more disclaimer: this novel contains some violence and sensuality.  I believe my work is no more explicit than any other novel available at your local library, but it is not geared towards children.
